Hellboy and a young B.P.R.D. agent are assigned to investigate strange happenings in the Appalachians during the 1950s. As they venture into the remote mountain community, they soon realize that the area is not only isolated but also under the control of sinister forces. Witches dominate the local population, casting fear and manipulating the people into obedience. The witches, however, are not the true threat.
